Men's Basketball Falls to Duquesne, 70-63

GW Bests Snow, Succumbs to Duquesne, 66-64
PITTSBURGH, PA - The George Washington women's basketball team traveled on foot to the Palumbo Center to play Duquesne and nearly walked away with a victory, but Vanessa Abel hit two free throws with 27 seconds left and the Colonials missed two late shots in a 66-64 loss to the Dukes Saturday afternoon. Tony Taylor averaged 20 points per game in GW's two games last week. The sophomore from Sleepy Hollow, NY, shot 7-for-14 from the field and converted both of his three-point attempts, as well as 6-7 from the free throw, line en route to his career-high 22 points in GW's game at Rhode Island Saturday. Against Saint Louis on Wednesday, Taylor scored a team-high 18 points on 6-10 FGs with four assists as GW downed the Billikens, 67-62, in overtime. Taylor's stats for the week: two games, 40 points on 13-24 FGs (.542), 3-3 3FGs (1.000), 11-14 FTs (.786), five rebounds (5 defensive), four assists and one steal in 70 minutes.
