PRINCETON, N.J. - Former GW men's rowing student-athlete David Morgenstern '11 is one of 87 athletes who have been selected to row as a member of the United States National Team at the 2013 World Rowing Championships
Morgenstern will be rowing in the Lightweight Men's Eight (LM8+) event and represents Connecticut Community Rowing Inc.
Eighteen Olympians and four Paralympians are among the 87-person roster that will compete in 27 events during the World Rowing Championships.
Morgenstern rowed bow for the Colonials' Varsity 8 boat as a senior in 2011 and is the latest in an impressive list of current and former student-athletes who have logged service in international competition.
This summer alone has seen senior Kasey Colander row for the United States at the World University Games in Kazan, Russia, while classmate Trofym Anderson (Canada) and sophomore Jordan Tewksbury-Volpe (United States) each competed at the U-23 World Championships in Lithuania.
