@GW_MensRowing Races at Princeton Chase

The GW men's rowing team continued its fall racing schedule at Sunday's Princeton Chase on Lake Carnegie in Princeton, N.J.

The Colonials entered a number of events, including a trio of boats in the Varsity 8 and a pair of crews in the Varsity 4. GW also entered two boats into both the Freshmen 8 and men's pairs events.

@GW_Volleyball Volunteers at WWII Honor Flight

In what has become an annual tradition, the George Washington volleyball team took advantage of Saturday's off day and spent time at the World War II memorial with the Space Coast Honor Flight Veterans.  


George Washington lacrosse junior MacKenzie Jones was recently offered the unique opportunity to speak at a Health Communication Capacity Collaborative forum on the topic of helping to create healthy and informed lifestyle choices for future generations.

An international affairs major who is concentrating in international development and global and public health, Jones has become proficient on sexual reproductive health and youth education through her work with Grassroots Colonials, an organization which seeks to bring HIV/AIDS education and awareness to at-risk middle schools across Washington, D.C.

BOSTON - The George Washington men's rowing team competed yesterday at the 49th Head of the Charles Regatta against two fields that featured some of the best crews in the world.

2013 Colonials Invasion Dunker 3 - Kevin Larsen

Along with Kethan Savage and Patricio Garino, fellow sophomore Kevin Larsen will round out GW's dunk contest field at Colonials Invasion on Friday night. Come cheer on the GW men's and women's basketball teams, as well as performances by the GW gymnastics team, GW Cheer Team and First Ladies, GW Bhangra and The Voice Gospel Choir, and enjoy contests and giveaways by GW Club Sports, GW Greek Life, The Colonial Army and GW Bookstore.

@GW_WBB's Danni Jackson Earns Preseason Honor

With the start of basketball season less than a month away, it's time for the annual doling out of preseason honors by media outlets.

On Friday, GW women's basketball graduate student Danni Jackson was selected to the Atlantic 10 Preseason All-Conference Second Team by College Sports Madness. Last season, Jackson led GW in scoring, averaging 10.1 points per game, including a team-best 10.9 ppg against A-10 opponents. One of two Colonials to start all 30 games, the 2012-13 team MVP ranked fifth in the league and 69th in the nation with 4.5 assists per game.

The Road to Sochi - Meyers Featured on

Former GW Softball standout and a member of the GW Athletics Hall of Fame Class of 2014, Elana Meyers ('07) took bronze in women's bobsled at the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver. With the start of the 2014 Winter Games in Sochi, Russia, just four months away, Meyers is now considered the top female bobsled pilot in the United States.

Meyers was featured in a video on WSJ Live on Monday explaining how bobsledders train during the snow-free summer months.

George Washington baseball senior Luke Staub has been named the No. 28 prospect in the Northwoods League's list of the Top 200 Prospects for the 2013 season, the league announced on Wednesday.

GW lacrosse junior Rachel Quinn is the GW Athletics Community Service Student-Athlete of the Month for September and the first award recipient of the 2013-14 academic year.

Quinn has been heavily involved in Camp Kesem GW, a student-run camp in Maryland for children of past and present cancer patients from the greater Washington, D.C., area.

The George Washington gymnastics team completed its annual team building field trip last weekend before volunteering at the annual Buddy Walk for the fourth year in a row.

The George Washington women's rowing team opened the fall portion of its 2013-14 schedule this past Sunday at the Head of the Potomac on the Potomac River.

The Colonials entered three boats of mixed lineups in the Women's Open Eight event and finished in second, fourth and sixth place out of seven crews.
