With the start of basketball season less than a month away, it's time for the annual doling out of preseason honors by media outlets.
On Friday, GW women's basketball graduate student Danni Jackson was selected to the Atlantic 10 Preseason All-Conference Second Team by College Sports Madness. Last season, Jackson led GW in scoring, averaging 10.1 points per game, including a team-best 10.9 ppg against A-10 opponents. One of two Colonials to start all 30 games, the 2012-13 team MVP ranked fifth in the league and 69th in the nation with 4.5 assists per game.
Jackson enters the 2013-14 campaign ranking 12th all-time at GW in assists (355) and ninth in free throw percentage (.790), and she is just 34 poitns shy of becoming the 28th member of GW's 1,000-point club.
The Colonials tip off the season on Saturday, Nov. 9, when they host Jackson State at the Charles E. Smith Center. Tickets are available here, and you can follow GW Women's Basketball all season long on Twitter at @GW_WBB and on Facebook.
