Following a breakout 2012-13 campaign, graduate student Megan Nipe started her final season off with a bang on Saturday, scoring a game-high 20 points in GW's 101-73 win over Jackson State. For her efforts, Nipe was named Atlantic 10 Player of the Week by College Sports Madness.

Nipe's 20 points matched her career high, which she set in the 2012-13 regular-season finale against Saint Louis. She made 7-of-17 shots against JSU, including two from three-point range, and was 4-for-5 from the foul line. She added three assists, there rebounds, a steal and a blocked shot. Nipe scored 13 points in the first half alone, including nine during GW's 23-7 opening run.

A native of Lino Lakes, Minn., Nipe averaged 10.0 points and 5.2 rebounds per game last season, ranking second and third on the team, respectively.
