The George Washington women's squash team has reached new heights, earning its highest national ranking in program history on Thursday. The Colonials are now ranked No. 11 in the latest

College Squash Association (CSA) National Rankings.

GW (4-4) used a perfect 3-0 weekend last week and an upset of then-No. 11 Bates on Saturday to move up to No. 11. The Colonials had recently spent seven weeks at No. 12, the high mark in program history until the latest rankings were released.

GW is in action at the Yale Round Robin this weekend against four ranked opponents - No. 14 Williams, No. 20 Bowdoin, No. 16 Middlebury and No. 5 Yale.

The Colonials are striving to break into the top tier of competition at the upcoming CSA National Championship, February 21-23 in Princeton, N.J. The top eight teams in the CSA rankings at the end of the regular season will advance to the Howe Cup. Teams ranked 9-16 play for the Kurtz Cup.

The Colonials competed in the Kurtz Cup (B-Division) last season for the first time in program history.
