Game vs. SA All Stars: Highlights
On our seventh day in Australia we held a youth clinic for local girls in Adelaide then competed in our third game of our tour against the South Australian All Stars.
Following a free morning in which everyone was able to walk around Adelaide to shop or explore, the team then returned to the Glenelg Lacrosse Club where it welcomed more than 40 girls ranging in ages from 8-18 for a two-hour clinic. The coaching staff and members of the team worked with the youth on passing, stick work, defensive footwork and positioning and shooting.
"The clinic was really fun and it was great to get to know the girls who came out. We spent a lot of time talking mostly about lacrosse but we also got to talk about their culture and comparing it to the United States. It was great to see such a huge group and I hope they enjoyed it because we definitely did." - Erin Long, Goalkeeper
At the conclusion of the clinic GW took on the SA All Stars, a team comprised of the best players from club teams around South Australia. Junior Jamie Bumgardner led the Colonials with three goals and five assists while classmate Allie Rash tallied three goals.
Tomorrow the team will take a ferry and spend the entire day on Kangaroo Island where we will have the opportunity to enjoy Seal Bay and the Little Sahara sand dunes.
