Shea went 2-1 in three matches during GW's championship run, providing key victories on the final two days that allowed the Colonials to earn consecutive 5-4 victories over higher-ranked opponents.
In the semifinal match against Brown, the match was tied 4-4 when Shea took the court against Emily Richmond. After falling in the opening set, Shea rattled off three straight victories to clinch the match (10-12, 11-4, 11-9, 11-5) and send the Colonials to the Kurtz Cup Championship.
In the finals against Columbia, GW found itself in an early 4-2 hole but a key 3-0 sweep by Shea over Reyna Pacheco at No. 4 ignited a comeback that resulted in the program's first-ever Kurtz Cup Championship.
Shea concludes her four-year career as the program's all-time career wins leader with 45 victories.
