@GWBaseball1 Recruit Filotei Chosen in MLB Draft

Incoming George Washington baseball freshman Dalton Filotei was selected by the Colorado Rockies in the 37th round of the Major League Baseball First-Year Player Draft on Saturday, but plans to honor his commitment and join the Colonials for his freshman season in 2015 according to 


Filotei, selected out of Daphne High School in Daphne, Alabama, with the 1,103rd overall pick, batted .378 as a senior with 28 runs scored and 21 stolen bases and was a Coastal Alabama All-Region Team selection after leading the Trojans to the second round of the district playoffs. 

"I am going to go to college," Filotei told's Ben Thomas. "I talked to the Colorado scout today. He asked me what I wanted to do, and I told him that I wanted to focus on college. He said he was looking forward to seeing how much better I could get."
