GW Baseball Summer League Update

| No Comments | No TrackBacks

With summer winding down it is time to check in on the GW baseball players who spent the last two months competing in various summer collegiate leagues around the country.

Hello everyone,

This will be my final blog post as my summer in New York is soon coming to an end and the beginning of preseason approaches. As sad as it is knowing that I will have to leave home soon, the thoughts and excitement of starting preseason with the girls makes me beyond ecstatic.

Hello GW volleyball families, friends, and fans!

Thanks for reading blog #3! The summer has absolutely flown by. I can't believe how quickly I've completed my internship, I've made trips to visit family, and now I'm preparing to head back to DC for preseason in just a few short weeks.

Former George Washington women's basketball standout Tara Booker ('13) recently completed her first professional season overseas with a pair of teams in Luxembourg and Australia.

After finishing up her master's degree at GW, Booker joined Telstar Hesperange, a top team in Luxembourg's second division, in January. She was brought in for the playoffs, where the top teams from Division 2 play the bottom teams from Division 1 for a chance to move up.

ESPN senior writer Andy Katz devoted the final third of his daily 3-Point Shot segment on July 15 to GW men's basketball, highlighting an impact freshman and the strength of the Colonials' non-conference schedule in 2014-15.

Jump to the 1:10 mark in the video below to hear Katz's offseason take on the Colonials.

On Sunday July 13, Coach Mike Lonergan joined Vin Parise on NBC Sports Radio's Anita Marks Show to discuss the Colonials and the July recruiting period. Listen to that segment by clicking here.

@GW_Volleyball Summer Blog Series: Timmer Time #3

Hello GW Volleyball fans, friends and family!

I hope you all had a wonderful fourth of July! The past 10 days I have been at home and it was extremely relaxing! I was able to spend a lot of time with friends and family. Most of the time spent was just hangout by the pool or lake and spending quality time with my siblings (I have a lot!). On the fourth, we made a slip and slide down the hill near my house, it was 200ft long and such a blast! We spend the whole weekend on the lake.

Hello Everyone!

We are done with June and into July which means another month closer to getting back on the court with my teammates in August. As the day to the first practice of preseason approaches, I've been finding different ways to spend my time at home the best way I can with friends and family. I've officially started playing in two indoor volleyball leagues with former high school and club teammates, some of which now play collegiate volleyball as well. So far we have been very successful against our competition and look to continue for the rest of the summer.
