With the College World
Series now complete, the 2014 collegiate baseball season is officially in the
books. With all statistics now final, it is a good time to look back at the
accomplishments of the 2014 GW baseball team.
First, a pair of notable achievements highlighted the 2014 campaign.
- For the second straight season, GW led Division I in the fewest amount of strikeouts by batters per game (4.1). The Colonials also led the nation in the least amount of total strikeouts by batters (207).
- GW concluded the 2014 season as one of only two teams in NCAA Division I to start at least seven freshmen in half of its games in 2014.

Individual Accomplishments
Owen Beightol
- Entered season as a career .280 hitter and batted .337 in 2014
- Set career-high marks in batting average, runs (31), hits (65), doubles (14) and on-base percentage (.380)
- Also set career-highs with 21 multiple-hit games
Colin Milon
- Entered season with a career earned run average of 4.88 before posting 2.94 ERA in 2014
- Also set career-high marks in wins (two) and saves (six)
- Posted strikeout-to-walk ratio of 4.60:1 (23 strikeouts, five walks)
Bobby LeWarne
- Led team with 57 strikeouts
- Recorded at least five strikeouts in seven of his 12 games started
- Lowered ERA by 0.28 from 2013 to 2014
Jacob Williams
- After pitching just 13.1 innings as a freshman - led GW with four wins and 82.1 innings in 13 starts
- Led starting pitchers with least amount of hits, runs and earned runs allowed
- Opponents batted .253 against him
Matthieu Robert
- Cut down on strikeouts by 46% from 2013 to 2014
