Hello GW volleyball families, friends, and fans!
Thanks for reading blog #3! The summer has absolutely flown by. I can't believe how quickly I've completed my internship, I've made trips to visit family, and now I'm preparing to head back to DC for preseason in just a few short weeks.
I am so grateful for my summer experience in the Pentagon Tricare Health Clinic. I could not believe how quickly seven weeks went by. Between athletic trainers, exercise physiologists, dietitians and physical therapists, I learned so much about the possible exercise science career paths and more specifically the career path I'm choosing to follow. I could not be more excited for what my future has in store!
By my last day, I was saying goodbye to security guards and Starbucks employees. My supervisor and other clinic employees even surprised me with a little going-away party! There was an ice cream cake and chocolate gifts - the seal of the Department of The Navy and the US Capitol Building! I will miss the Pentagon very much.
After spending the 4th of July with friends in DC (where better?), I've been traveling between Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and Charlotte, North Carolina, to visit family. Conveniently, these cities are also the sites of many Physical Therapy programs as well, so I've been setting up appointments and making visits to Universities around the area. I recently took the GRE and now plan on completing my PT application before heading back for preseason. Again, fingers crossed! J
The team has been great about staying in touch over the summer and everyone is extremely excited that our countdown is coming to a close end. Preseason is around the corner and we can't wait to get back to campus. I know I speak for all of the girls when I say I am very confident in our team chemistry, talent and drive heading into this season. Even the incoming freshmen seem integrated and ready for an A10 championship!
Looking forward to seeing familiar faces back in DC and in the gym cheering us on in a few weeks! Raise High!
