Today was a light day, especially in comparison to the first six days of our trip, and with structured tours every day in London and Paris, today's down time was a welcome change of pace.
After three great days, we bid adieu to Paris and boarded a train to Marseille in the South of France. The second-largest city in France wit ha population of about 1.5 million, Marseille is the biggest trading harbor in the county.
Our hotel sits on a hill above the harbor, providing an absolutely spectacular view. After checking in, we had free time to wander the city and shop or just sit in a cafe and take it all in. There was a great street market along the water with a variety of vendors and lots of shops along the streets, in addition to street performers right on the harbor.
Tomorrow brings our fourth and final game of our European tour as our trip winds down. But first we'll get to spend some time relaxing at the beach on the Mediterranean Sea!
Bria checks in about our first day in Marseille below, and don't forget you can also follow us on social media throughout the trip - check us out on Twitter (@GW_WBB) and Instagram (GW_WBB) and at the hashtag #EuroColonials.
We won our last game in Paris, which makes us 3-0 on our trip! Pretty good, huh? Following a long train ride, we made it to Marseille! Our hotel sits right on the harbor - stunning view. Our train from Paris to Marseille was absolutely breathtaking. Looked like something you see in a movie. Wine vineyards in every direction. JJ, Bird, Kecia and I really enjoyed it, due to our first class seats - so classy!
Today was pretty much our free day. We got to get out and enjoy the city, shop and eat! It was good to get some free time to just explore, get lost, then find ourselves again. Tomorrow we are going to the beach! I am beyond excited. I'll let you all know how beautiful it is tomorrow!
