Picking up where they left off in May, when the team won the Raise High Our Community Award at the third annual Georgey Awards, the Colonials assisted Cleveland Elementary School by preparing for the upcoming school year. Projects included cleaning and decorating classrooms and landscaping and beautifying outdoor gardens.

Last year, the men's cross country team's community service efforts, combined with that of the rest of the varsity programs at George Washington, combined to total 8,471 hours of community service. As a result, the GW Athletic Department was awarded the inaugural Atlantic 10 Conference Assists Challenge championship.
