Throughout GW men's basketball's tour of Japan, student-athletes will be providing insight on their experiences on GWsports.com's blog, 22nd & G. On day one, the Colonials took in  Japan's national high school baseball tournament at Koshien Stadium, where 60,000 fans packed the house. Following the game, GW made a visit to ASICS Institute of Sport Science. Below, freshman center Collin Smith writes about his experience:

Say┼Źnara USA, Kon'nichiwa Japan!

The travel party for the GW men's basketball team had an early start on Wednesday as it begins a 10-day tour of Japan, with the bus rolling out from Smith Center at 4 a.m. Following a 7 a.m. flight to San Francisco and a quick layover, the team and staff will board a 14-hour flight that delivers them to Osaka around 3 p.m. local time on Thursday.

Rising junior Yuta Watanabe will never forget the moment he heard the exciting news that his Colonials would embark on a foreign tour of his home country in August of 2016.
