GW Athletics to Host #GWHomecoming This Weekend
Men's Basketball Puts Unbeaten Home Record on the Line on Saturday

WASHINGTON - The George Washington University Department of Athletics and Recreation will proudly host Homecoming, January 23-25, in Foggy Bottom. Highlighting the weekend of activities is a free pregame 'Slam Dunk Brunch' for all ticketed fans attending the men's basketball game versus Duquesne on Saturday (call 202-99-GWTIX to purchase).
"Homecoming has become a strong tradition at GW where we recognize the success of the GW community and welcome back alumni to connect with their former classmates, teammates and alma mater," said Director of Athletics and Recreation Patrick Nero. "Once again this year several of our athletics teams are in action at home this weekend, and we look forward to seeing so many GW alumni Raise High with pride in celebration of some of the great achievements by our students and alumni."
The Slam Dunk Brunch runs from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. on the third floor of the Lerner Health and Wellness Center, and will feature food from Pork Barrel BBQ, Cava Grill, Mac's Donuts and Tonic @ Quigley's. Men's Basketball Head Coach Mike Lonergan will address the crowd at the conclusion of the brunch. In addition to the free food and drinks, tailgate games and entertainment are also part of the festivities.
Fans will then cross 23rd St. for the men's basketball game at 2 p.m. (BUY TICKETS). At the game, members of the 2014 national champion Kurtz Cup-winning women's squash team will be honored. GW's Greek organizations on campus will also be recognized throughout the game.
#GWHomecoming will also feature men's and women's swimming and diving on Friday evening at 5 p.m. at the Smith Center versus Howard, GW's nationally ranked men's and women's squash teams versus Yale at the Matthew J. Grossman Squash Courts in Lerner Health and Wellness Center at 10 a.m. on Saturday morning, and more thrilling squash competition against Columbia at 12 p.m. on Sunday.
