Colonial of the Week Presented by Capgemini: Jack Conlon & Chris Shaffer
Both set new program records at last weekend's Patriot Games
George Washington men's track student-athletes Jack Conlon and Chris Shaffer each put forth record-setting performances for the Colonials at this weekend's Patriot Games hosted by George Mason University.
Conlon was in action on Friday evening and finished second overall in the 5,000-meter run with a new program-record time of 15:05.56. The performance, which was also a 25-second PR, eclipsed the previous record by just under one second. The Fort Collins, Colorado, native finished second overall in the field of 15 competitors.
Saturday's racing saw senior Chris Shaffer set a new program record in the mile when he finished with a time of 4:11.94 to take second overall out of 22 competitors. Shaffer, who beat the previous record by just under two seconds, was the top collegiate finisher in the event.
