Jan. 31, 2005
WASHINGTON, DC -- The George Washington University had 75 student-athletes qualify for the Atlantic 10 Commissioner's Honor Roll for the Fall 2004 semester, as announced by the league office this week. The A-10 Commissioner's Honor Roll honors student-athletes in the conference who have achieved a 3.5 grade-point-average or higher.
"It's an honor to recognize these student-athletes who truly exemplify what the college experience is all about," A-10 commissioner Linda Bruno said. "Their commitment to excellence on and off the playing field is inspiring and should serve as an example to all."
In the Fall of 2004, the Presidents Council of the Atlantic 10 Conference changed the parameters of the Commissioner's Honor Roll. Now, the Honor Roll will be announced at the end of each semester and will consist of student-athletes with GPA's of 3.5 or higher for that semester. Prior to this year, one annual honor roll was announced which consisted of student-athletes with a cumulative 3.0 GPA or higher.
The A-10 Fall 2004 Commissioner's Honor Roll consists of 912 student-athletes from the 12 members of the conference.
