Colonial Of The Week
March 9, 2009
Senior Pat Lehman almost made history for the Colonials, after throwing a complete game shutout last Sunday (3/8) against the Fairleigh Dickinson Knights at Barcroft Park. Lehman allowed just one hit in the game and struck out 13 batters to push his record to 2-0 on the season. Lehman lost his no-hit bid with two outs in the ninth inning when a Fairleigh Dickinson pinch hitter hit a blooper into centerfield to break up Lehman's bid for history. The only other two runners that reached base for the Knights reached on errors.
The right hander from Fair Lawn, NJ now has a 0.86 ERA so far in 21 innings this year and has struck out 25 batters, while walking just one. He has also not allowed more than one earned run in any of his first three starts. Lehman was drafted last year by the Minnesota Twins in the 41st round, but chose to return to Foggy Bottom for his senior season.
