Colonials of the Week - Megan Seidman and Owen Beightol

Seidman scored a season-high five goals on just five shots to lead the Colonials to an 11-7 win over Villanova in their only game of the week. Seidman scored the first two goals of the game and tallied the eventual game-winner with 11:25 to go. With GW leading by one with less than nine minutes left, the senior scored two big insurance goals in just over a minute to seal the win. Seidman leads the Colonials with 20 goals this season and ranks second on the team with 12 assists and 32 points.

Beightol hit .471 (8-for-17) to lead the Colonials to a 2-games-to-1 series victory over District rival Georgetown this past weekend and an 8-4 non-conference win over Towson last Wednesday. The Richmond, Va., native led off his week by going 2-for-5 with a RBI double in the Colonials' win over the Tigers. He followed that effort by collecting six hits, including two doubles and a home run, in GW's series victory over Georgetown. In Sunday's finale, Beightol was a perfect 4-for-4 from the plate with a pair of doubles in the Colonials' 14-inning victory over the Hoyas, their second straight extra-inning win against their crosstown foes. For the week, he struck out only once while slugging .824 with four RBIs. For his efforts, Beightol was named the Atlantic 10 Player of the Week on Monday.
