GW Student-Athletes Thank Supporters on GW Flag Day
Colonials Participate in Day of Education on the Power of Philanthropy
As part of GW Flag Day, a campus-wide effort to educate students, faculty, and staff about the ways in which philanthropy enables the Colonial experience, George Washington student-athletes participated in a “Thankathon” to make phone calls to personally thank supporters of the Buff and Blue Fund.
In addition to the personal calls, GW student-athletes also signed thank you postcards for the nearly 2,000 supporters who made a gift to the Buff and Blue Fund this year. It is expected that the Fund will top the 2,000 donor mark for the first time in its history this fiscal year.
"Our student-athletes love saying 'thank you' on Flag Day each year," said Nicole Fratianne, Assistant Director of Athletics for Development. "They know that our donor family believes in them and makes the Colonials student-athlete experience possible, equipping them to win championships and thrive in life after GW in record numbers."
