WASHINGTON - GW Athletics and its rising basketball programs will be well represented at the prestigious Villa 7 Consortium at Nike's World Headquarters in Beaverton, Oregon on May 6-7.

Director of Athletics and Recreation Patrick Nero, women's basketball Associate Head Coach Megan Duffy and men's basketball Associate Head Coach Hajj Turner will all represent GW at the annual invite-only convention which brings together university athletic directors and the country's elite assistant basketball coaches in an effort to prepare the next generation of college basketball leaders.

With the attendance of the trio of Nero, Duffy and Turner, GW will be the only athletics department in the nation to have all three positions represented at this year's Villa 7.

The event will take place in the Tiger Woods Center on the Nike campus and feature segments from prominent men's coaches such as Larry Brown at SMU, Mark Few at Gonzaga and Shaka Smart at VCU.

Since 2005, more than 115 men's and women's assistant coaches who have attended Villa 7 have gone on to receive Division I head coaching positions, including current GW women's basketball Head Coach Jonathan Tsipis, GW Athletics Hall of Famer and women's basketball alumna Lisa Cermignano ('97), and GW men's basketball alumnus Joe Dooley ('88).
