Extensive work to the exterior facade of the building is the major project occurring in Phase III. Construction crews have removed the large concrete panels around the building to expose the underlying glass front of the arena and are now removing debris and old HVAC components from the roof.
Inside the building, crews have demolished the box office and cleared second-level offices and restrooms on the 22nd Street side of the building. On the lower level, crews have begun the GW Athletics' branding in the areas renovated in Phases I & II, including the Sports Medicine suite and Women's Varsity Locker Rooms.

On the exterior, construction crews have begun installing the glass panels that will make up the facade of each side of the Smith Center and a new box office overhang has been framed.
On the interior, Daktronics' installation team has assembled the Smith Center's new LED video and scoring system and will prepare to raise the unit to its centerhung location in the coming weeks. When completed, the new videoboard will be among the largest in college basketball and the largest collegiate Daktronics basketball display in the Mid-Atlantic. Along with the eventual raising of the new Daktronics LED videoboard, construction crews have also begun re-raising GW's Atlantic 10 championship and NCAA Tournament banners to the Smith Center rafters.
