NEWPORT NEWS, Va. -- The Atlantic 10 Conference announced on Thursday that 128 GW student-athletes were among the league's 1,698 student-athletes named to the Commissioner's Honor Roll for the Spring 2016 semester.

Combined with 119 honorees from the Fall 2015 semester, GW earned a total of 247 A-10 Commissioner's Honor Roll distinctions for the 2015-16 academic year, while amassing 38 conference all-academic accolades.

The 1,698 honorees for the conference is the highest number of student-athletes that have qualified for the award since 2007 when the lists were regularly compiled, surpassing the 1,679 honored in Fall 2015.

To be recognized on the biannual Commissioner's Honor Roll, a student-athlete in an Atlantic 10-sponsored sport must possess a 3.5 grade-point average or better (on a 4.0 scale) during the specified semester.

For the second consecutive semester, women's soccer boasted a GW-high 18 Commissioner's Honor Roll members, followed by women's rowing with 14, women's cross country/track with 13, men's soccer with 12 and lacrosse with 11.
