WASHINGTON, D.C.- A total of 107 student-athletes from The George Washington University have been named to the Atlantic 10 Commissioner's Honor Roll for the Spring 2011 semester, as announced by A-10 Commissioner Bernadette V. McGlade. The A-10 Commissioner's Honor Roll recognizes its student-athletes who have achieved a 3.5 grade-point-average or higher.
"The academic success of our student-athletes is a tribute, not only to their hard work and commitment to excellence, but to the ongoing emphasis placed upon academics by The George Washington University" said Karen Ercole, GW's Executive Director of Academic Assistance. "We are very proud of the academic achievements of our student-athletes and congratulate them, as well as all of the student-athletes in the Atlantic 10 Conference who are members of the Commissioner's Honor Roll".
The women's rowing team led the way with 17 rowers being recognized while the women's soccer team had 15 players named to the list.
