Spring 2014 Atlantic 10 Commissioner's Honor Roll | GW Success Beyond Athletics in 2013-14

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - The Atlantic 10 Conference announced on Thursday that 99 George Washington student-athletes are among the league's 1,339 student-athletes named to the Commissioner's Honor Roll for the spring 2014 semester.

Combined with 95 honorees from the fall 2013 semester, GW earned a total of 194 Commissioner's Honor Roll distinctions for the 2013-14 academic year while totaling 8,471 hours of community service to fulfill two of the three tenants of GW Athletics - being champions in the classroom and in the community. Take a closer look at the enormous success enjoyed by GW student-athletes beyond competition in 2013-14.

To earn a Commissioner's Honor Roll distinction, a student-athlete in an Atlantic 10-sponsored sport must possess a 3.5 grade-point average or better on a 4.0 scale.

Academics are a point of pride in the Atlantic 10 with the league ranking fifth among all conferences in both the NCAA Graduation Success Rate (GSR) and the Academic Progress Rate (APR).
