WASHINGTON, DC - Colonials Sports Marketing earned three "Best of" awards for promotional initiatives at the North American Collegiate Marketing Association (NACMA) annual conference in Anaheim, CA, June 23.
The office, which provides communications and marketing support to the GW Department of Athletics, earned gold awards for best ticket sales piece and sponsorship program, and a silver award for single newspaper display ad.
Colonials Sports Marketing earned its first gold for its partnership with Coca-Cola in creating the COKE KIDZ ZONE, a section of season tickets purchased by the university beverage partner to be used by youth groups in the Washington Metropolitan Area.
The second gold award was given in the "Ticket Sales Piece" category for the series of two ads placed in the Foggy Bottom metro station, inviting commuters, community members and visitors to support Colonials' basketball.
CSM earned silver for its ad placed in the "GW Hatchet" advocating the "New GW Commute," encouraging faculty and staff commuters to forego rush hour traffic and attend a Colonials game at the Smith Center.
The winners were selected among nearly 150 institutions by the leadership of NACMA, the association connecting sports marketing professionals across all levels of collegiate athletics.
