WASHINGTON - The George Washington University Department of Athletics and Recreation announced today that Justin Lange has been hired as Director of Multimedia Production and Broadcast Services. Lange comes to the nation's capital from Gonzaga University in Spokane, WA, where he served as Athletics Video Services Specialist. In this newly created position, Lange will plan and produce innovative and compelling videos including highlight packages, special projects and commercials promoting the various sports, events and student-athletes at GW.

"I am thrilled to join the George Washington University in this new role," said Lange. "With over 450 student-athletes and 23 intercollegiate sports, there are countless great stories to be told, events to broadcast and personalities to highlight, and I'm extremely eager to begin in this new capacity at GW."

As the individual responsible for the video board production of all GW Athletics events at the Charles E. Smith Center, Lange will hire and manage game day crews, make technical and creative decisions, and produces b-roll packages for use by media outlets. He will also act as the technical liaison for outside production companies during television broadcasts.

"During our recent strategic planning process it became evident that having a dedicated multimedia professional in the Department of Athletics and Recreation is paramount to many of our efforts to `Raise High the Buff and Blue,' said Deputy Athletics Director Chris Boyer. "Having someone aboard with Justin's experience, talent and skill set will be invaluable to us as we share our stories with our many stakeholders and we elevate the GW Athletics brand locally, nationally and around the world."

At Gonzaga, Lange was behind the launch of the Zags' Athletic Video Services Department, and under his vision, Gozags.com featured multiple videos per week that highlighted student athletes, coaches and the brand of the program, in addition to countless highlight and postgame interview pieces after Gozags.com's live-streamed events with full production crews. Lange also directed the in-house video boards at the McCarthey Athletic Center for every Gonzaga event, including men's and women's basketball, volleyball, banquets, galas and graduations, in addition to the first and second rounds of the Women's Basketball NCAA Tournament in 2011 and 2012.

A graduate of Washington State University with a degree in Broadcast Journalism, Lange spent two and a half years after graduation working for the NBC affiliate in Spokane, WA (KHQ), where he served as Executive Producer of The Mark Few Show. Lange also recently earned a graduate degree in Sport and Athletic Administration from Gonzaga.
