WASHINGTON, DC - The George Washington University named Josh James and Simon Ogus as Athletic Communications Graduate Assistants, GW Sports Information Director Brad Bower announced on Wednesday.
James will serve as the primary contact for the Colonials' men's and women's tennis, softball, men's and women's swimming & diving, and women's soccer, while pursuing a master's degree in sports management. Ogus will serve as the primary contact for baseball, men's and women's cross country, gymnastics and men's and women's squash, while pursuing a master's degree in sports management.
James comes to GW from Radford University after serving as a media relations student assistant. At Radford, he maintained statistics for 18 Division I sports including baseball, softball and both basketball programs. He also accompanied the Radford men's tennis team to the NCAA Tournament in Athens, GA.
Ogus comes to GW from Stanford University after serving as a media relations assistant. At Stanford, he was the day-to-day contact for baseball, women's soccer, women's lacrosse, men's volleyball and women's gymnastics. Ogus represented Stanford at the 2008 College World Series with the baseball team and to the Women's Gymnastics NCAA Championships in Athens, Ga.
A native of Palo Alto, CA, Ogus earned his bachelor's degree in economics with a minor in business from University of Arizona.
Ogus and James replace former Graduate Assistants, Steve Kramer and Ryan Hudson, both of whom earned master's degrees last May.
