GW Basketball To Tip Off With Colonials Invasion Oct. 14
GW Men's and Women's Teams Introduced, Harlem Globetrotters Exhibition

WASHINGTON, DC -- George Washington University's version of Midnight Madness, called Colonials Invasion, will be held at Charles E. Smith Athletic Center on Friday, October 14. Doors open at 8:00 p.m. and members of the university community are invited to attend. The event is free and open to the public.
Friday's activities feature the introduction of both men's and women's basketball teams, as well as head coaches Karl Hobbs and Joe McKeown. Also scheduled will be an appearance by the world-famous Harlem Globetrotters. New GW radio play-by-play voice, Byron Kerr, also will be introduced.
The program also will feature contests, give-aways, raffles to win a flat screen television and other prizes as well as lots of Colonials Spirit. The 1,000-member student fan organization, The Colonial Army, also will be in attendance.
The GW men's team will open their season with a preseason game Saturday, Nov. 12, against Augusta State at 1:00 p.m. The GW women's preseason game against EV1 takes place the next day at 2:00 p.m. Both preseason games will take place at Smith Center.
