Senior goalkeeper Jack Lopez posted back-to-back shutouts – the first clean sheets of his career – in GW’s 1-0 victories over Atlantic 10 rivals Saint Joseph’s and George Mason last week as the Colonials improved to 3-0-0 in conference play for the first time since 2000 while extending their winning streak to four. Lopez made a number of big plays to preserve the shutouts, which included a double-overtime road win at SJU and the Colonials’ first win over the Patriots in a decade. The native of Miami, Florida, has not allowed a goal in his last 260:24 of action dating to the first half at Davidson on Oct. 4, lowering his goals-against average to 0.98, which ranks third in the A-10, while his 0.32 GAA in conference games is second-lowest in the league.
