Megan Nipe scored a career-high 31 points to lead GW to a 75-72 upset victory over then-No. 10/11 California on Friday. The first Colonial to top 30 points since Cathy Joens in 2004, Nipe made 11-of-20 field goals, including 4-of-9 from three-point range and 5-of-6 from the foul line, and she added seven rebounds. The graduate student from Lino Lakes, Minn., was named Atlantic 10 Player of the Week and College Sports Madness High-Major Player of the Week on Monday. She is averaging a league-best 25.5 points per game and shooting 48.6 percent from the floor through the first two games of the season.
