Patricio Garino helped lead GW men's basketball to a pair of victories last week, averaging a team-best 22.0 points on a scorching 63 percent shooting effort, along with 5.5 rebounds and 2.5 steals.
In Thursday's 83-60 win over UMBC, Garino set a new season-high with 23 points on 7-of-13 shooting and a career-best 9-of-11 effort at the foul line and added seven rebounds and four steals. In Sunday's 78-70 BB&T Classic victory over Charlotte, he made all six of his shots in the first half and 10-of-14 overall en route to a team-high 21 points.
Along with Colonial of the Week recognition, Garino was also named College Sports Madness' Atlantic 10 and National High-Major Player of the Week, as well as NetScouts Basketball's International Player of the Week.
Through seven games, Garino paces the Colonials in scoring at 14.6 points per game on 55.7 percent shooting while adding 5.1 rebounds and 2.4 steals per contest.
