Professional and Collegiate Sports Veteran to Head Athletics Ticket Office
Responsible for the oversight, management and execution of outbound ticket sales and renewals, customer service and retention and revenue generation for GW Athletics, Anderson will rely on the skills that led her sales outfit in Chicago to a league-leading 30 percent increase during her tenure, while leading the Sky to the largest crowd in franchise history of 13,838.
"Shelli emerged from a strong and diverse pool of well-qualified candidates for this new and extremely important position for GW Athletics," said Deputy Director of Athletics Chris Boyer. "We are confident our current ticket buyers will enjoy her energy and service-oriented philosophy, while her creativity and proven track record in generating new sales in a competitive marketplace will allow her to be successful in securing new customers and revenue for our department. Shelli's sales and marketing experience in both professional and collegiate athletics has prepared her well for this new challenge and will complement our current Marketing and Ticket staff very nicely."
A veteran of the Chicago Sky staff since 2006, Anderson has also previously worked for the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay Athletics Department and the Green Bay Packers. A graduate of UWGB, Anderson will be responsible for the development of sales plans at GW designed to increase ticket revenue and attendance at athletic and other special events. Additionally, through comprehensive research initiatives, Anderson will seek to strengthen the bonds and build new loyalties between the university and its ticket patrons and stakeholders.
"I'm honored and privileged to be able to serve at the George Washington University," said Anderson. "After the university conducted its strategic review and implemented a five-year strategic plan for the Department of Athletics and Recreation, I am confident and excited about the huge opportunity ahead, and I am eager to begin connecting with the community members, students and those we hope will join our loyal fanbase as we continue to raise high the Buff and Blue."
With a degree in business administration with an emphasis in marketing, Anderson later coordinated and implemented the men's and women's basketball season kick-off events at her alma mater. Her responsibilities at UWGB also included assisting with the creation of new ticket options, as well as the initiation and activation of plans designed to increase attendance and entertainment value at home events.
