CASE FOR SUPPORT

GW Athletics - Who we are and what we do:
Building upon the Legacy and Tradition, Supporting Champions and Leaders

Competition is a daily part of life for student-athletes. GW Student-athletes are challenged daily in the classroom, in training and in the community.  To help our student-athletes meet those challenges head on and become champions in all areas of life, GW Athletics needs to build the necessary financial resources.  It is the new reality of contemporary intercollegiate athletics and the vision of the GW Raise High Strategic Plan that makes the Buff & Blue Fund and the contributions from our donors so critical.

Buff & Blue Fund contributions go to support GW student-athletes as they train to compete at the NCAA Division I level.  2011-12 proved to be a banner year, and the bar has been set.  Coaches and student-athletes are determined and committed to bring championships back to Foggy Bottom and that takes financial backing.  The Buff & Blue Fund and its staff are committed to properly support our athletes and coaches.

Champions in Philanthropy

Our donors are our Champions in Philanthropy! Your gift to the Buff & Blue Fund, whether in the form of an annual gift, an endowed program or a planned gift, makes a difference.  The University has renewed its commitment, but private financial support is necessary to keep up and get ahead in intercollege athletics.  With the addition of two Men's Basketball NCAA Final Four programs (Butler and VCU) to the Atlantic 10, our need is ever greater.  A broad base of donors- season ticket holders, alumni, athletic alumni, parents and fans- is critical to helping GW Athletics meet its commitment to our student-athletes.

To our donors - know that our student-athletes, coaches and staff are sincerely grateful for your support - however you decide to contribute. We stand together in Raising High the Buff & Blue creating lifelong memories while building champions for today and for life.
