Kent Hulnick

Kent Hulnick is in his third year as an assistant athletic trainer at George Washington, after serving as a graduate assistant at the University from August through December of 2001. He is responsible for overseeing the athletic training room at the Mount Vernon Athletic Complex, which is home to GW's men's and women's soccer teams, tennis squads, women's lacrosse team, and softball program. As part of his duties, Hulnick is in charge of the inventory for the training room. He also supervises graduate assistant trainers that work with GW's various athletic teams. In addition to regular duties, Hulnick also teaches therapeutic exercise courses and modalities in GW's athletic training education program. Prior to his appointment at GW, Hulnick worked as a staff athletic trainer at the West Coast Sports Medicine Foundation in Manhattan Beach, CA. At the foundation, he provided rehabilitation and treatment services to members of the Los Angeles Kings of the National Hockey League (NHL) and the NIKE Real Run Summer Professional Basketball League, among others. Hulnick also worked as an athletic trainer and physical therapy assistant at Sunrise Health Strategies in Las Vegas, NV and served as a physical therapy assistant at Mount View Hospital and Canyon Lake Rehabilitation. This past summer, he served as the athletic trainer for the Washington Freedom of the W-League. Hulnick is a licensed physical therapy assistant in the State of Maryland. He is also board certified by the National Athletic Trainer's Association and is certified by the National Strength and Conditioning Association to work as strength and conditioning specialist. Hulnick has been a member of the National Athletic Trainer's Association since 1992 and the American Physical Therapy Association since 1997. Hulnick earned a bachelor's degree in health and physical education from the University of Pittsburgh in 1993 and an associate's degree in physical therapy from Southern Nevada Community College in 1998. He is currently pursuing a master's degree at GW in exercise science, with a concentration in clinical exercise physiology. Hulnick resides in Reston, VA with his wife, Jill, and daughter, Aleeza. |
