1988 Athletic Hall of Fame Inductee
Charles B. Reed, a native of Mechanicsburg, Pa., lettered three times as a GW football player. A 5-10, 180 pounder, the Waynesburg (Pa.) High School product played quarterback, fullback and defensive halfback for the Colonials from 1960-62. In addition to his gridiron career at GW, he later earned master's and doctoral degrees from the Foggy Bottom school in 1964 and 1970, respectively.
Reed is currently the Chancellor of the California State University System. He previously held a similar position as the Chancellor of the State University of Florida.
He and his wife Kathy have two children.
