Senior Candace Silva-Martin set a new Atlantic 10 record for career digs on November 4, tallying a single-match career-high 36 en route to setting the all-time mark. Candi also owns the program record for digs in a season.
Men's Squash Stuns #9 Penn
GW squash stunned #9 Penn, 5-4, on Nov. 17 when freshman James Reiss provided a match-clinching 3-2 win over the Quakers. Senior Islam El-Fiky kept the Colonials' upset bid alive with a key win at the No. 1 spot, and Reid Breck, Ahmed Abedl-Latif and Omar Sobhy also contributed victories in the triumph.
Men's Swimming's Oliver Keegan & Phillip Graeter Win Gold at A-10 Championships
Phillip Graeter concluded his sterling career as a Colonial with his first-ever gold medal at the Atlantic 10 Swimming and Diving Championships on February 22. He finished with a time of 3:53:72 in the 400-yard individual medley to claim victory. Oliver Keegan entered his first A-10 Championships with a splash of his own, winning gold in the 200-yard butterfly with a conference-record performance.
Men's Basketball Defeats Dayton on Senior Day in Overtime Thriller
In a memorable day for GW Athletics, multiple Colonials provided heroics for a Senior Day victory that guaranteed a trip to the Atlantic 10 Championship. Bryan Bynes played 31 minutes and provided 13 points despite fracturing his leg less than three weeks before. Dwayne Smith added 15 points in the effort.
