Women's Rowing Falls to #4 Princeton, Penn

May 4, 2002

PRINCETON, NJ - The GW Women's Rowing team travelled to Princeton, NJ, May 4 to take on 4th-ranked Princeton University and a strong University of Pennsylvania on Lake Carnegie in Princeton, NJ, in the final regular-season race for the women. As expected, Princeton dominated the event. The conditions were ideal for racing, as temperatures were in the 70s and only a faint headwind made for slightly slower times.

George Washington 7:04.9

2nd Varsity 8:

On Sunday, May 12, GW travels to Camden, NJ, to race in the regular season championship, the Eastern Sprints regatta. The Eastern Sprints is made up of 18 schools, including Ivy League powerhouses Princeton, Brown, Yale and Harvard, widely considered to be the best rowing league in the country. Nine of the teams in the Eastern Sprints league are ranked among the top 20 crews in the country in the May 1 Collegiate Rowing Coaches poll.
