GW Rowing Programs Set to Row For Humanity Wednesday

Jan. 27, 2004

WASHINGTON, DC - The GW men's and women's rowing programs invite the public to come to GW's Marvin Center where the Colonials teams will be participating in the inaugural Row for Humanity Wednesday, Jan. 28, from 8 am-7:30 pm at GW's Marvin Center located at 800 21st St., NW, on the campus of the George Washington University.

The fund-raiser benefits Habitat for Humanity as well as the GW men's and women's Rowing programs. Both GW student-athletes and non-athletes will row indoors on 15 ergometers (an indoor rowing machine) throughout the day to earn money pledged for each meter rowed. The goal of the event is to reach 1 million meters on the 15 ergometers and more than $20,000 has already been pledged to the effort.

With the harsh weather being what it is, improved housing in D.C. is critically important. You are invited to help raise awareness in this effort.
