GW Sailing's Inaugural Alumni Regatta Set for Sept. 28
Second-Year Varsity Program's Event Added to Alumni Weekend Festivities
Aug 28, 2013
WASHINGTON - The George Washington sailing program will host its inaugural Alumni Regatta at the Washington Sailing Marina on Saturday, Sept. 28.
"Though we're entering just our second season as a varsity program, there is a long history of competitive sailing at GW," said second-year head coach John Pearce. "We wouldn't be setting goals to compete at the ICSA National Championships without all of the sailors who committed to the sport and to GW club sailing long before we joined the varsity ranks. We hope any and all GW sailing alumni will join us at our inaugural event to celebrate our past and help us Raise High the program into the future."
The Alumni Regatta will be held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Washington Sailing Marina located at 1 Marina Dr, Alexandria, VA 22314. Food and beverages will be provided.
Interested alumni should contact Coach Pearce at firstname.lastname@example.org or 202-994-1698, and should also register on the Alumni Weekend website and plan to attend the All-Athletics Reception inside the Charles E. Smith Center's Colonials Club from 4-6 p.m.
