Colonial of the Week - Sailing's Riley Legault
Legault qualified for the ICSA Singlehanded National Championship over the weekend
Name: Riley Legault
Hometown: Bonita Spring, FL
Sailing in the Faye Bennet at Navy which serves as the MAISA Singlehanded Conference Championship, Legault needed a top-four finish to qualify for nationals for a third consecutive year. After the first day of racing, she found herself on the outside looking in at ninth place in the 18-boat field, but responded in impressive fashion on day two. The junior took third, first, sixth and fifth in the final four races, vaulting her up the leaderboard to a third-place result and earning a trip to nationals in November. There, she'll look to improve upon her 10th place finish from a year ago.
