Men's Squash Wins Three Of Four While Women Seek First Victory

Feb. 6, 2003

Washington, DC - The men had three big wins this past week while the women still look for their first victory. The men's team (6-5) had 8-1 victories over Bard, Penn State and Haverford on Saturday, February 1. In the longest weekend of the season, the Colonials had great success and regained their winning record. The men's weekend matches were all held at Haverford located in Pennsylvania.

The women's team (0-3) whose rookie squad has faced some formidable foes lost on Saturday, February 1 at Cornell. The novice team is still looking for its first win having lost 9-0 in their first three contests. The women will compete against Haverford and then Franklin & Marshall this coming weekend before completing the season at the Howe Cup at Yale.

After a three-win weekend, the men lost a rematch against Navy 9-0. Having lost to them 8-1 earlier in the season, the Colonials were hoping for revenge on Wednesday, Febraury 5 but shot blanks against the Midshipmen. The men will have two more regular season matches before the team and individual championships begin at the end of February.
