Women's Squash Drops Two Weekend Matches

LANCASTER, PA - The Colonials women's squash team lost two matches last weekend to drop to a winless 0-6 record. The Colonials were swept 0-9 by Haverford and then Franklin and Marshall in two matches in Lancaster, PA. Number-one player Jessica Marks (Denver, CO/Greenwich) almost pulled off her second victory of the year but lost 2-3 against Haverford.

Marks, a sophomore has recorded GW's lone win this season when she won 3-2 against Vassar at the Vassar tournament on January 18. The other bright spot for the Colonials on the weekend was the play of number-six Rachel Giuliano (Penn Valley, PA/Harriton) who won a game in both of her matches losing 1-3 to Haverford and then Franklin and Marshall.

The women will compete at the Howe Cup hosted by Yale to conclude their season. The tournament runs for three days from February 19-21. The Colonials have are 0-6 in their second year as a Division I varsity sport at George Washington.
