Men's Swimming Sunk By Navy 137-97

Final Stats

Washington, DC - GW men's swimming lost to a larger and stronger Navy men's squad. The meet, however, did not come without Colonials highlights. Sophomore Bryan Ferretti (Newtown, PA/Council Rock) notched two wins in the contest. Feretti won the 1,000-yd freestyle in 9:48.13. Later in the meet, Ferretti took first in the 500-yd freestyle in 4:47.97.

GW had five first place finishes all in swimming events. Junior Andrew De Sorbo (Salisbury, NC/Salisbury) won the 100-yd butterfly in 1:59.57. Freshman Kevin Falkenstein (Westmont, NJ/Haddon Township) won the 200-yd backstroke in 2:00.13. Junior Joshua Roberts (Memphis, TN/White Station) won the 200-yd breaststroke in 2:12.01.

Both men's and women's swimming will compete against East Carolina on Saturday at the Smith Center. Diving will begin at 11:00 am while Swimming starts at 1:00 pm. The women have been most impressive this year, placing first in the Potomac Relays and beating La Salle and James Madison in the past few weeks.
