FAIRFAX, VA - The George Washington University men's and women's swimming and diving teams stand sixth and tied for seventh, respectively, after the first of a three day competition Friday evening at the Patriot Invitational hosted by George Mason University at its Aquatic & Fitness Center.

Colonials' freshman David Zenk (St. Louis, MO/St. Louis Country Day School) highlighted GW's night by finishing in front of 23 other swimmers to place first in the 200-yard individual medley.

Overall, Yale leads the 11 men's teams competing with 293 points while Duke is in front of the women's pack of 11 squads with 206 points.

Day two of the annual meet beings Saturday at 10:00 am.
