FAIRFAX, VA - Following the second of three days of competition on Saturday, Nov. 19, the George Washington University men's and women's swimming & diving teams both sit in sixth place at the Patriot Invitational, hosted by George Mason at its Aquatic & Fitness Center. The Colonial men stand at sixth with 176 points out of 11 teams, while the women have 133 points to rank sixth out of 11 squads.

Highlighting action for GW on Day 2 once again was freshman David Zenk (St. Louis, MO). After a first-place finish in the 200-yard individual medley on Friday, Zenk came back on Saturday to post a pair of top three finishes. Zenk placed second in the 400-yard IM with a time of 4:01.82, while taking third in the 100-yard backstroke with a mark of 51.66.

On the women's side, senior Maggie Moss (Indianapolis, IN) claimed second in the 100-yard backstroke with a time 57.38. Moss' presence was also felt on the Colonials' 200-yard medley and 800-yard freestyle relay teams. She helped the 200-yard medley relay place fifth in 1:49.42, along with freshman Ariana Berdini (Woodstock, GA), junior Shannon Ma (Kennesaw, GA) and freshman Laura Myers (Cedarburg, WI), while pacing the 800-yard freestyle relay to a sixth-place showing in 7:48.52, comprised of seniors Caitlin Hyde (Fairless Hills, PA) and Christina Boland (Purcelville, VA), and junior Monica Pampell (Albuquerque, NM) and Moss.

Zenk, meanwhile, also had a hand in helping GW's 800-yard freestyle relay take seventh out of 17 squads with a mark of 7:02.89. After Zenk on leadoff, he was followed by sophomores Danny Johnson (Glendale, AZ) and Jeff Glazer (Dix Hills, NY), and junior Jeffrey Cohn (New Orleans, LA).

The final day of action at the Patriot Invitational gets underway at 9:00 a.m. on Sunday, Nov. 20, with finals set to begin at 5:00 p.m.
