Swimming and Diving Women Start In Fifth While Men Take Seventh On Day One

FAIRFAX, VA - After the first day of the George Mason Invitational, the George Washington Women are in fifth place with 94 points while the men take seventh with 60 points. The Duke men and women are in first at the Patriot Invitational held this weekend at the Jim McKay Natatorium at the Aquatic and Fitness Center.

The Blue Devils amassed over 200 points from both the men's and women's teams, falling in at 201 and 290, respectively. The George Mason women are second with 195 points, while UMBC is third with 195. On the men's side, UMBC is holding steady with 183, while the Patriot men are third (168).

Eleven events were in action on day one of the Invitational. The Patriot Invitational continues Saturday at 10 a.m. with 16 events. Finals will take place, beginning at 6 p.m.
