GW Swimming and Diving Places Fourth and Fifth at FIU Meet

MIAMI, FL - George Washington junior Maggie Moss (Indianapolis, IN/North Central) was named the Atlantic 10 Swimming and Diving Performer of the Week after recording the Colonials' lone first place finish at the Golden Panther Invitational hosted by Florida International University on Sunday.

Moss won the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 58.42 seconds.

The Colonials' swimming and diving teams competed with a limited squad in the meet as the women placed fourth overall and the men fifth.

Freshman Jeff Glazer (Dix Hills, NY/Commack) notched the best GW men's finish, taking second in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 48.63 seconds.

GW sophomore Jon Sabin (Fairfield, CT/Fairfield) (54.25 seconds in the 100-yard backstroke) and senior Bryan Ferretti (Newton, PA/Council Rock) (9:54.49 in the 1000-yard freestyle) each notched a third place finish.

The Colonials return to action at full strength Sunday as they host the University of Maryland Baltimore County at Smith Center Pool beginning at 12:00 pm.
