GW's Mark Adam Named A-10 Co-Rookie Of The Week

Jan. 14, 2003

WASHINGTON, DC - George Washington men's swimmer Mark Adam (Millersville, MD/Severna Park) won Atlantic 10 Co-Rookie of the Week recognition the conference has announced. Following the winter break, Adam won the 200-yd breaststroke with a time of 2:10.51 in a dual meet against University of Maryland-Baltimore County on January 11.

Adam already has been awarded A-10 Rookie of the Week honors once this year, on November 25, for his performance at the Patriot Invitational. Adam shares this week's honor with Duquesne's Hugo Erse.

Adam 's best time in the 200-yd breaststroke of 2:10.38 is the third-fastest time in the event in Atlantic 10 this season. Adam also has recorded the fifth-fastest A-10 time in the 100-yd breaststroke with a time of 1:00.01.

The men's swim team lost to UMBC, 131-75, on Saturday and will compete against William and Mary in Williamsburg, VA, at 2:00 pm on Saturday, January 18.
